Shhop'yatnitsy Celal Plevlyak sits at his chorga "volgu" and goes from Split to Livno to pray in the mosque. For fifteen years, I have been trying to drive this way back and forth, I think that there is a turn and a skin tree on it, until at the border of Croatia and Bosnia I am not affected by the rapt snowfall and have a flat tire. Which door knocks for help - Christian or Muslim? Why decide to stay away from your life, and without that you are rich in benefits. This is a story about the painful selfishness of people, about faith and loss; a novel about a car and a car, in which socialist Yugoslavia believes in Allah as widely as communist ideals. Written like a detective story, “Volga, Volga” goes far beyond this genre, showing that Yorgovich is able to delve into the deepest pitfalls of the human psyche and soul.
