Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics. validol — the complex substance which is formed at dissolution of menthol in mentilovy ether of isovaleric acid. at sublingual application the effect of medicine is caused by effects of menthol and ether of isovaleric acid. the first — irritating sensitive nerve terminations on a mucous membrane of an oral cavity, renders reflex vasodilating (including coronarodilator) action. the second — stimulates education and release of the enkephalins, endorphins, dinorfinums and peptides regulating feeling of pain in central nervous system. as a result of use of medicine the regional blood circulation improves, the expressiveness of pain decreases. medicine works soothingly.

Pharmacokinetics. Drug is quickly soaked up in an oral cavity and already in a few minutes reaches the C _max in a system blood-groove. Effect of medicine at sublingual application develops in 5 min.

Partially is transformed in a liver. Products of transformation are allocated from an organism through intestines with bile. Drug in not changed look is removed from an organism with urine and expired air.

Indication

Attacks of stenocardia of light severity. sea and air diseases. hysteria. neurosis. the headache connected with use of nitrates.

Tablet to keep

in a mouth (under language) before full dissolution.

Single dose for adults makes 1–2 tablets; a daily dose — 2–4 tablets.

If necessary a daily dose can be raised. The maximum daily dose — 600 mg. Treatment duration — up to 7 days.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to medicine components, the expressed arterial hypotension, a sharp myocardial infarction.

Side effects

At prolonged use in isolated cases nausea, discomfort in a stomach, dacryagogue, dizziness, drowsiness, short-term arterial hypotension which quickly pass independently.

Special instructions

In cases when pain in heart does not pass after administration of drug, needs to exclude a sharp coronary syndrome. at use of medicine as a part of combination therapy of attacks of stenocardia in case of lack of effect the first 5 min. it is necessary to appoint nitrates.

Drug contains sugar therefore with care patients should appoint it with diabetes.

Use during pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Use of medicine during pregnancy and feeding by a breast perhaps if, according to the doctor, the expected positive effect for mother exceeds potential risk for the fruit/child.

Children. There is no experience of use of medicine for children.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of vehicles or work with other mechanisms. The care during the first hours after use of medicine is necessary at control of vehicles or the work requiring special attention as dizziness, drowsiness and reduction in the rate of psychomotor reactions is possible.

Interaction

Nitrates — simultaneous application with nitrates reduces the headache arising at application of the last.

Validol-Darnitsa is strengthened by effect of sedative medicines, psychotropic drugs, opioid analgetics, alcohol and anesthetics at their simultaneous application.

Antihypertensive medicines — potentiation of effect of antihypertensive medicines at simultaneous application with Validolom-Darnitsa is possible.

Overdose

Symptoms: a headache, nausea, excitement, violation of action of the heart, decrease hell, oppression of central nervous system, reaction of hypersensitivity to medicine components (Quincke's disease, a small tortoiseshell, an itch, rash).

Treatment: in case of overdose it is necessary to cancel medicine and to carry out symptomatic therapy.

Storage conditions

In original packing at a temperature of 8-15 °C.
