Description
peripheral venous cannula with a security system of Yu-FLEX Plus consists of the following components.
- Needle stylet with a protective clip which performs safety function (automatically and irrevocably blocks a needle stylet edge after extraction from a cannula tube, thus minimizing risks of acute injuries of medical personnel in a workplace and risks of transmission of infection through blood), and needle plugs for its reliable fixing at extraction from a cannula tube.
- Cannula with the catheter made of polyurethane. On a lengthening tube of a cannula the stream breaker intended for risk mitigation of an air embolism, chemical and microbiological contamination during manipulations with a cannula contains. The lengthening tube comes to an end distally with one or two connectors Luer-Lok. On the main (distal) connector Luer-Lok the cap with a hydrophobic membrane is dressed that prevents the expiration of blood or solution at installation of a cannula in a vein. One or both connectors Luer-Lok (depending on modification) contain caps Luer-Lok for sealing of a cannula, or they can be in the form of caps with the valve of bezyglovy access which automatically opens at connection of the syringe or a system and is automatically closed at their detachment.
Purpose
- For intravenous infusion of liquids, such as solutions, parenteral nutrition and for bolyusny administration of medicines.
- For maintenance of hydration and/or correction of dehydration at the patients who are not accepting the sufficient volume of liquid orally.
- For transfusion of blood or components of blood.
Indications
State demanding access to peripheral veins.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to any of used dressing materials as a part of a medical product.
Target group (population)
Person, needing access to peripheral veins.
Route of administrationMedical product is intended to
for use only by the qualified medical personnel.
During the using and care for a cannula observe the existing instructions and recommendations. It is necessary to observe strictly security measures because of a possibility of traumatizing.
- Check an expiration date and integrity of the package of a medical product.
- Open packing and take from it a peripheral venous cannula. Be convinced by
- that all connections with accessories are tight and that the breaker of a stream is open and allows air to leave. Remove a cap Luer-Lok from a cap with a hydrophobic membrane. Be convinced by
- that the needle stylet is in situation a cut up the relation to a peripheral venous cannula. Make phlebotomy at an angle from 5 to 30 degrees (depending on depth of arrangement of a vein). The success of phlebotomy (hit of a tip of a needle in a vein) will be demonstrated by instant emergence of blood between a needle stylet and a surface of a tube of a cannula. In 1–2 seconds the emergence of blood will happen in a lengthening tube of a cannula. Note: the movement of blood will slow down in a junction of a catheter and a lengthening tube before continuing the movement on a lengthening tube to the connectors Luer-Lok. Holding
- needle stylet plug, record a needle not movably to the surface of skin of the patient, and other hand slowly enter a peripheral venous cannula into a vein, removing it from a needle. After input of a catheter on full depth – carefully take a needle stylet from a cannula with a catheter.
- After the needle stylet is taken from a cannula, automatic blocking by a protective clip of an edge of a needle will happen, preventing possible risks of an accidental prick and infection.
- Utilize the used needle according to protocols in a container for sharp objects.
- Close the breaker of a stream and remove a cap with a hydrophobic membrane from the connector Luer-Lok. Connect the syringe to the connector Luyer-Lok, open the breaker of a stream and wash out a lengthening tube and a cannula from residues of blood by introduction of 0.9% of solution of sodium chloride. Without disconnecting the syringe, close the stream breaker.
- Connect to the connector Luyer-Lok the corresponding connector of the line or a system for intravenous infusion or transfusion, be convinced of tightness of connection, open the breaker of a stream and begin infusional therapy according to appointments.
- Record not movably peripheral venous cannula for wings to the patient's skin by means of a special bandage or an adhesive plaster.
- After the end of infusional therapy close the stream breaker, disconnect the line or a system, close the connectors Luer-Lok caps Luyer-Lok. If necessary previously wash a peripheral venous cannula of 0.9% with sodium chloride solution.
Side reactions
Hypersensitivity reaction.
in case of any side reactions on the entered solution should stop immediately the procedure and to tell the doctor and the manufacturer of this solution.
Restriction, a precautionary measure
- Study the instruction before use. The medical product should be used according to the instruction for use.
- Use the corresponding size of a cannula. Carefully choose
- and process the place of a puncture of a vein. do not touch with
- a protective clip.
- Consider the initial volume of the device at input of limited volumes of solution. If the device is used by
- under high pressure or with injectors, connect the system of injection directly to the device by means of the Luyer-Lok socket, excepting all connected accessories, such as bezygolochny connector, 3-running crane, replacing them where it is necessary, with densely closed cover Luer. Use only the Luyer-Lok connectors suitable for ensuring safe connection. Do not use devices with venous catheters of small caliber (26G and 24G). Before use always check passability of the device. In order to avoid damage of the device never exceed the maximal pressure of 20 bars.
- When using cannulas with caps with the valve of beziglovy access pressure in a system for input should not exceed 2 bars.
- do not use scissors and other cutting instruments in an installation site of a peripheral venous cannula or near it as it can lead to damage of a catheter.
- do not apply excessive efforts, do not pull and do not bend a catheter as it can lead to its damage.
- do not use a cap with a hydrophobic membrane as a cap Luer-Lok as it can lead to solution course.
- Before use of a medical product check integrity of the package and an expiration date. Do not use a product at damage of primary packing or service life.
- Use a medical product at once after opening of individual blister packing. not to reuse
- . Not to sterilize repeatedly. Reuse and cleaning of a medical product can change its structural and mechanical properties. It can lead to infection or an injury. with
- in case of emergence when using a medical product of such complications as occlusion, infiltration / ekstravazation, phlebitis, pain, a hematoma, an infection, it is necessary to tell the doctor and to remove a cannula. to Utilize
- according to local requirements for utilization of medical waste. Producer is not responsible
- for any accidental or investigative complications in connection with reuse of a medical product, or its use not to destination.
