Taras Bulba: A Tale - Mikola Gogol (978-617-07-0815-1)

The main characters of the story “Taras Bulba” by Mikoli Gogol (1809-1852) are the male Cossacks, who are full of patriotic fervour, most empathetic and ready to self-sacrifice in the fight for the freedom of their native land. The author describes the way of life, life, laws and relationships among the Cossack camp, and also destroys the problems of loyalty and health, even though people will now face a choice and create their own future. The story has been translated into many European languages, it has been followed by a short film sequence, and an opera and ballet have been staged based on the plot.
