Description
“The Diary of Mrs. Hanka” is the last work of the famous Polish writer Tadeusz Dolenga-Mostowicz (1898–1939), which was published on the eve of Nazi Germany’s attack on Poland (the writer himself died in the first days of the war). The novel is based on a fascinating detective story, which Anna Renovitskaya writes in her diary with a sincere story (under this pseudonym - seemingly the real wife of a diplomat, a charming, intelligent and sophisticated woman of the high world of pre-war Poland). The author himself presented his work as “a document reflecting the way of life and thinking of a modern cultural woman, as well as her environment.” After all, it was precisely such individuals, as he admitted, who gave the tone and character of an entire era.
