Saur-Mogila... an unusual place. But this book is not so much about places as it is about people and events of August 2014. Like the beam of a flashlight thrown into the darkness, the authors’ consciousness captured faces, actions and impressions. And, passing it through the prism of my own experience and worldview, I turned it into a text. A lot of subjective things, little pathos, probably a lot of inaccuracies associated with personal perception of events and the properties of memory. But this is an attempt to convey everything exactly as I remember. Initially, the authors wrote texts for themselves, to understand, not to forget, to digest the experience gained. Because there are things that cannot be kept to yourself for long. Heat, fatigue, faces of brothers-in-arms. Understanding that tomorrow may not come. Dust and sweat. This is war. She's always there.
