Description
A novel that has become a kind of symbol of the work of Franz Kafka. It is interesting that Kafka did not leave any clues by which one could somehow recreate the plot of the novel. The chapters were not numbered and were contained in separate envelopes.
Josef K. is a rational hero in an absurd society. His unremarkable, even somewhat banal life went on as usual, until he was notified that a process had been started against him... The absurdity of what is happening to K. frightens precisely because of its mundane, cold routine, everyday life and even the strange logic of what is happening with a hero of horror, whom he is unable to resist.
Where is the judge whom he has never seen? Where is the high court, where he never got to? He is guilty simply because every person in this life can be guilty of something... The terrible and absurdly funny atmosphere of “The Trial” is stunningly accurately conveyed by Orson Welles in his film
