Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics. the anesthetizing and febrifugal effects of paracetamol are caused by oppression of synthesis of prostaglandins and the prevailing influence on the center of thermal control in a hypothalamus.

Pharmacokinetics. Paracetamol is well soaked up in a GIT. The peak of concentration in blood plasma comes in 20–30 min. after reception. It is metabolized in a liver with formation of a glucuronide and sulfate of paracetamol. It is allocated generally with kidneys. T _½ — from 1 to 4 h

Indication

Tablet. for short-term stopping of a headache, including migraine and a headache of tension, pain in an osteoarthritis, rheumatic pain, neuralgia, muscle pain, a dorsodynia, periodic pain at women, a toothache, symptoms of cold and flu, such as fever, an ache be obese, a sore throat.

Suspension. Pain during a teething, a toothache, a sore throat, fever in cold, flu and children's infections, such as chicken pox, whooping cough, measles, parotitis (mumps).

for treatment of a vaccine-challenged hyperthermia at babies at the age of 2–3 months

Use

Tablet. medicament is intended for intake.

: on 1–2 tablets each 4–6 h if necessary with an interval between receptions not less than 4 h. No more than 8 tablets (4 g) during 24 h

Maximum daily dose for adults — 4 g

to Children at the age of 6–12 years: on ½–1 to a tablet each 4–6 h in case of need with an interval between receptions not less than 4 h. No more than 4 tablets (2 g) during 24 h. The single dose of paracetamol makes 10–15 mg/kg of body weight, the maximum daily dose — 60 mg/kg of body weight.

Duration of treatment is defined by the doctor individually.

Maximum term of use of medicament without the recommendation of the doctor — 3 days.

Suspension. Piaron suspension is intended for treatment of children aged from 2 months up to 12 years.

only for oral administration.

for use in pediatrics. The dose of paracetamol depends on age of the child.

Administration of medicament can be repeated each 4–6 h if necessary. Not to accept more than 4 doses a day. Not to accept more often than in 4 h

Maximum term of use of medicament without the recommendation of the doctor — 3 days.

For children at the age of 2–3 months. The body weight of the child has to be 4 kg. To apply a single dose of 2.5 ml of suspension to symptomatic treatment of reactions to vaccination. If necessary the dose can be repeated, but not earlier than in 4–6 h. Not to apply more than 2 doses. If the body temperature of the child does not decrease after a repeated dose, it is necessary to see a doctor. Further use of medicament for children of the specified age is possible only under observation of the doctor.

to Children aged from 3 months up to 12 years. In the table the doses corresponding to age of the child are specified.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to medicament components, heavy abnormal liver functions and/or kidneys, a congenital hyperbilirubinemia, deficit glyukozo-6-fosfatdegidrogenazy, alcoholism, blood diseases, Gilbert's syndrome, the profound anemia, a leukopenia. patients with rare hereditary intolerance of fructose. children's age up to 2 months

Side effects

from the system of blood and lymphatic system: thrombocytopenia, bruises or bleedings, anemia, sulfhemoglobinemia and methemoglobinemia (cyanosis, short wind, heartache), hemolytic anemia, agranulocytosis.

from the immune system: an anaphylaxis, reactions of hypersensitivity, including an itching, rashes on skin and mucous membranes (usually erythematic rash, a small tortoiseshell), a Quincke's disease, a multiformny erythema (Stephens's syndrome — Johnson), a toxic epidermal necrolysis (Lyell's disease).

from a respiratory system: a bronchospasm at the patients sensitive to acetylsalicylic acid and other NPVP.

from digestive system: nausea, pain in epigastriums, an abnormal liver function, increase in activity of liver enzymes, as a rule, without development of jaundice, gepatonekroz (dose-dependent effect). Drug can have insignificant laxative effect.

from an endocrine system: a hypoglycemia, up to a hypoglycemic coma.

Others: aseptic pyuria.

This medicine contains karmoizin, sodium methylparaben and sodium propilparagidroksibenzoat therefore can cause allergic reactions (perhaps, slowed down).

Special instructions

needs to consult to the doctor concerning a possibility of administration of medicament by patients with renal failures and a liver.

At children at the age of 2–3 months which were born premature can use medicament in the form of suspension only according to the recommendations of the doctor.

Danger of overdose arises at patients with not cirrhotic alcoholic disease of a liver.

Drug can affect results of laboratory researches on content in blood of glucose and uric acid.

at children combined with other means containing paracetamol.

If symptoms of a disease do not begin to disappear within 3 days of medicament treatment or, on the contrary, the state of health will worsen, it is necessary to see a doctor.
