The SR225x and SR125x have been competing with each other for decades. The SR225x is a more advanced model that uses new F ear cups for a more textured sound. The drivers work in unison to produce a unique sound and be as fast as the SR125x. The speaker matching level is only 0.05 dB; in the younger model SR125x, this figure is 1 dB.

4th generation Grado drivers specially tuned for the SR225x. The new speaker design features a more powerful magnetic circuit, a voice coil with reduced effective mass and a redesigned diaphragm. Upgrading these components to the new 44mm drivers improves efficiency, reduces distortion, and maintains the harmonic integrity of your music.

In addition to the speakers, the cables and headband have been redesigned for the SR225x. The 8-conductor cable is now more durable, transmits more information, and features oxygen-free copper wire for improved audio signal purity. The new headband has more padding for greater comfort.
