​​Wood sound

​​ For the first time Grado headphones combine three different types of wood. We build with wood for its warm and enveloping tonal abilities, but finding the right balance between three separate types of wood is no easy task. However, the reward is the RS1x, which takes the Grado to a new level of sound.

​​Corporate sound

​​ With the new 50mm X driver, we've pulled out all the stops and when combined with Maple, Hemp and Cocobolo, our signature sound reaches new heights. Maple does most of the work, hemp smoothes out the highs and lows, and cocobolo adds an extra punch. When combined with our special processes, the sound produced by wood is rich, dynamic and truly defined.

​​X-series drivers

​​ RS1x are the first headphones with large 50mm X drivers. This new driver design, specifically tuned for the RS1x in three woods, features a more powerful magnetic circuit, a voice coil with reduced effective mass, and a redesigned diaphragm. Upgrading these components to our 50mm drivers improves efficiency, reduces distortion, and maintains the harmonic integrity of your music.

​​ New cable and headband

​​In addition to the speakers, the cables and headband have been redesigned for the RS1x. Featuring a more durable appearance, the now super annealed 8-core copper cable reveals even more detail in your music with improved clarity.
