Description

Nutmeg is a spice that grows on an evergreen tree with the scientific classification Myristica Fragrans. Muscat is native to the islands in the Indonesia region. These trees bear the nutmeg flower, which produces a kernel - a nut with a dried shell. Nutmeg is a delicate, slightly sweet-tasting spice that is widely used in cuisines around the world, including in Western and Asian recipes. Nutmeg contains a range of nutrients, vitamins, minerals and organic compounds. The main ones are thiamine, vitamin B6, manganese, folic acid, magnesium, copper and dietary fiber. It is a fairly popular spice that has the ability to relieve pain, soothe the stomach, help strengthen cognitive functions, help with detoxification of the body, improve skin health, reduce insomnia, enhance the function of the immune system, can prevent leukemia and improve blood circulation. Nutmeg has a wide range of uses in home cooking, so it must be present in the kitchen of every housewife! First of all, it is indispensable in the preparation of sweet dishes. Muffins, puddings, and pies become much tastier if flavored with grated nutmeg. Its taste properties are especially enhanced towards the end of baking. Nutmeg improves the taste of jam, compotes, and drinks. Pairs well with vegetable dishes (asparagus, spinach, sorrel, celery, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower, potatoes, peas, beans). It is added to mushroom and fish dishes, marinades, it improves the taste and aroma of dairy dishes, as well as cocktails and other drinks, such as Mulled Wine. Muscat has a spicy smell, it has an aftertaste - at first the taste is weak, and then it becomes pronounced. Nutmeg is not recommended to be consumed in large quantities. In cooking, it is widely used for making puddings, creams, sweets, baked goods, compotes, and jams. Muscat is used for baking fruit. Some gourmets add nutmeg to soups, broths, pates, vegetables, schnitzels.
