Medoklav tab. of p/o 500mg/125mg No. 16

tablets "Medoklav" are applied to treatment of the bacterial infections caused by microorganisms, sensitive to drug:

• sharp bacterial sinusitis;
• sharp average otitis;
• confirmed exacerbation of chronic bronchitis;
• community-acquired pneumonia;
• cystitis;
• pyelonephritises;
• an infection of leather and soft tissues, including cellulitis, stings of animals, heavy dentoalveolyarny abscesses with widespread cellulitis;
• an infection of bones and joints, including osteomyelitis.

Structure

One tablet, coated, contains active ingredients):

• amoxicillin trihydrate of 574 mg that is equivalent to 500 mg of amoxicillin;
• potassium clavulanate of 148.9 mg that is equivalent to 125 mg of clavulanic acid.

Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, sodium krakhmalglikolit (type A), silicon dioxide colloidal waterless, magnesium stearate; the film cover contains: hydroksipropilmetiltsellyuloza, propylene glycol, polyethyleneglycol 6000, talc, titan dioxide (E 171).

Contraindication

• hypersensitivity to medicine components, to any antibacterial agents of group of penicillin;
• existence in the anamnesis of the heavy reactions of hypersensitivity (including an anaphylaxis) connected with application of others beta laktamnykh agents (including cephalosporins, karbapenem or monobaktam);
• existence in the anamnesis of jaundice or the dysfunction of a liver connected with use of amoxicillin/clavulanate.

Route of administration

Praparat should be applied according to the official recommendations about antibiotic treatment and data of local sensitivity to an antibiotic. The sensitivity to amoxicillin / clavulanate differs in different regions and can change over time. In case of need it is necessary to address data on local sensitivity and if necessary to carry out microbiological definition and the sensitivity test.

Range of the offered doses depends on the expected pathogens and their sensitivity to antibacterial drugs, disease severity and localization of an infection, age, body weight and function of kidneys of the patient.

For adults and children with body weight ≥ 40 kg the daily dose makes 1500 mg of amoxicillin / 375 clavulanic acid mg (3 tablets), as shown below.

For children of 6 years with body weight from 25 to 40 kg the maximum daily dose makes 2400 mg of amoxicillin / 600 clavulanic acid mg (4 tablets), as shown below.

high doses of amoxicillin, it is necessary to apply other forms of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid to avoid purpose of excess high doses of clavulanic acid.

Adults and children with body weight ≥ 40 kg: one tablet of the medicine "Medoklav" of 500 mg / 125 mg 3 times a day.

Children aged from 6 years with body weight from 25 to 40 kg: a dose from 20 mg / 5 mg/kg/day to 60 mg / 15 mg/kg/day, divided into 3 receptions. In case of impossibility of granting the corresponding dose, it is necessary to apply other forms of a combination of amoxicillin/clavulanic acid in the corresponding dosage.

As a tablet cannot be shared, to children with body weight less than 25 kg, given not to appoint a dosage form.

Feature of application

Pregnant

As well as concerning other medicines, it is necessary to avoid use of medicine during pregnancy, especially in the I trimester, except cases when the advantage of use of medicine exceeds potential risk.

in breast milk (there is no information concerning influence of clavulanic acid on the baby who is on breastfeeding). Respectively, at the baby the appearance of diarrhea and fungal infection of mucous membranes is possible therefore feeding by a breast should be stopped. Drivers

Researches on studying ability of medicine to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or other mechanisms. However, there can be side reactions (for example allergic reactions, dizziness, spasms) which can affect ability to drive the car or other mechanisms.

Overdose

Overdose can be followed by symptoms from digestive tract and violation of water and electrolytic balance. These phenomena treat symptomatic, paying attention to correction of water and electrolytic balance. It was reported about crystalluria cases which can sometimes cause a renal failure. Side effects

Infection and invasion: candidiasis of skin and mucous membranes, excessive increase in insensitive microorganisms, aseptic meningitis.

from blood and lymphatic systems: a reversible leukopenia (including a neutropenia), thrombocytopenia, a reversible Agranulocytosis, hemolytic anemia, increase in a bleeding time and the prothrombin ratio.

from the immune system: Quincke's disease, anaphylaxis, syvorotochnopodobny syndrome, allergic vasculitis.

from nervous system: dizziness, headache, reverse hyperactivity and spasms.

from a digestive tract: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, digestion violation, antibiotikoassotsiirovanny colitis (including pseudomembranous and hemorrhagic colitis), black hairy language.

from kidneys and an urinary system: interstitial nephrite, crystalluria.
