Description
Giorgio Shcherbanenka (born Volodymyr; 1911, Kiev - 1969, Milan), the son of a Ukrainian and an Italian, is rightly called the father of the Italian detective. Throughout his life, he wrote women's novels, and in his later years, he wrote a series of works, the main character of which became Duca Lamberti - a great doctor, and now a private detective, intelligent, enlightened, with high professional virtues, who complies with the type of daily European trace, and at the same time loses it softened Italian style.
The debut of a new hero appeared in 1966 in the novel “Private Venus”, which immediately won the respect of critics and readers. The arena of activity of Duca Lamberti is a net of Milan, where he gets involved in killings and rakes, faces deadly dangers, invariably moving around.
The poems of “Private Venus” by Ducas Lamberti are simple stories from the writer’s next books: “The Tenet of the World”, “Young Buzuvirs”, “The Milanese Kill on Saturdays”. In the rest of the work there are also characters from the previous books - the girl Livia, who became his friend, and his faithful assistant Mascaranti, are buried after death.
