Solution "Lutsetam ^® " is applied by the adult at the following indications to injections:

• symptomatic treatment of the morbid conditions which are followed by a memory impairment, cognitive disorders except for the diagnosed dementia (weak-mindedness);
• treatment of a cortical myoclonia as a part of mono - or complex therapy.

Structure

Active ingredient - piracetam (1 ml of solution contains 200 mg of piracetam).

Excipients: sodium acetate trihydrate, ice acetic acid, water for injections.

Contraindication

• hypersensitivity to piracetam or derivatives of a pirrolidon and also other components of medicine;
• acute disorder of cerebral circulation (hemorrhagic stroke);
• end-stage of a renal failure;
• Hungtington's chorea.

Route of administration

to use Drug in the form of injection solution in sharp cases or at impossibility of application of oral forms of piracetam. To use medicament or intravenously (enter slowly, within several minutes), or in the form of infusion (apply within 24 hours continuously).

to use Drug to adult patients.

Treatment of states which are followed by a memory impairment cognitive disorders

Initial daily dose makes 4.8 g within the first week of treatment. Usually to distribute a dose on 2-3 introductions. The maintenance dose makes 2.4 g a day. Further perhaps gradual dose decline on 1.2 g a day.

Treatment of a cortical myoclonia

Initial daily dose makes 24 g, to appoint within 3 days. If it is during this time not reached desirable therapeutic effect, to continue use of medicine in the same dosage (24 g/days) up to 7 days. If for the 7th day of treatment the therapeutic effect is not gained, treatment should be stopped. If the therapeutic effect was reached, then since day when steady improvement is reached, it is necessary to begin to lower a dose by 1.2 g of piracetam each two days until again manifestations of a cortical myoclonia appear. It will give the chance to establish an average effective dose.

• 6% solution of the Dextran 100 in 0.9% chloride sodium solution;
• Ringera solution;
• Ringera solution lactate;
• solution mannitol-Dekstran;
• 6% solution of hydroksiyetilovy starch (HES).

Overdose

Symptoms: strengthening of manifestations of side effects of medicine. Symptoms of overdose were observed at oral use of medicine in a dose of 75 g

symptomatic treatment. There is no specific antidote, it is possible to apply a hemodialysis (removal of 50-60% of piracetam).

Side effects

from nervous system: often (≥ 1/100 to <1/10) - a hyperkinesia.

from metabolism and food: often (≥ 1/100 to <1/10) - increase in body weight.

Mental disorders: often (≥ 1/100 to <1/10) - nervousness; infrequently (≥ 1/1000 to <1/100) - a depression.
