Description

Zira is widely used in all national cuisines as the main part of the spice mixture for pilaf, as well as in other meat and vegetable dishes. Cumin seeds give vigor, freshness, increase kidney activity, relieve spasms from small blood vessels of the skin, and are acceptable as a spice and auxiliary medicine for patients with gastritis with high acidity. Zira has a pronounced antiseptic property and heals wounds. These fruits are used as a stimulant and diuretic. Cumin strengthens the stomach and intestines and stimulates appetite. Lotions of cumin mixed with olive oil or bean flour help resolve tumors. For medicinal purposes, cumin is used in the form of infusion, whole seeds and powder. Zira has a beneficial effect on the cardiovascular system, prevents the formation of blood clots and protects our body from heart attacks. Consumption of spice improves brain activity and vision, promotes digestion and improves appetite. Strengthens the stomach and intestines, indispensable for stomach colic, cramps, dyspepsia and flatulence. Zira seeds are included in the spicy mixture “garam masala”, widespread in India, which has many different variations. In addition, cumin is a component of curry sauce and is added to the famous Chili sauce. Cumin is one of the main components when pickling cucumbers, cabbage and tomatoes. It is good to boil potatoes in their jackets. A mixture of ground cumin, coriander and fennel can be added to jam, mashed berries or ground fruit.
