Description

The American writer, poet and journalist Howard Philips Lovecraft (1890-1937) was called the Edgar Poe of the twentieth century. He worked in the genres of horror, mysticism, fantasy and science fiction and was the creator and master of the American mystical “black school” of the 20s and 30s of the last century. During his lifetime, Lovecraft did not publish a single book and gained fame among the general reading public after his death. His work is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for filmmakers; many films have been made based on his works. "The Winged Death" - a story by H. P. Lovecraft, written in 1933 in collaboration with Geisel Guild, is the diary of a murderer - a scientist who plotted an insidious revenge - the murder of his colleague Henry Moore, and so that he himself could go unpunished. The setting - South Africa - is very colorful: fauna unknown to science, inaccessible places where no white man has ever set foot, mysterious deadly diseases, terrible beliefs of the local population. It was precisely taking into account such circumstances that Thomas Sloanwhite decided to use an incredibly elegant method of revenge - with the help of a poisonous fly... However, he must be held accountable for his actions, and he will face no less sophisticated punishment for the crime committed...
