Description
plate the Arsenal "the Hands" – 1982
Arsenal — the first Soviet jazz-rock collective created in 1973, the founder — the saxophonist Alexey Kozlov.
Legendary jazz rock band.
"Quite often ask me why our ensemble is called a word Arsenal what expresses such name? First of all — a wide choice of means, as genre and stylistic (we use elements of such directions as jazz, fate, funk, folklore, chamber music, etc.), and expressive (from traditional wind and ancient national instruments to the modern electronic equipment). Besides, there is a certain word-play since the first three letters of a word Arsenal form the word "ars" meaning in Latin "art".
Thus, in the name of ensemble hidden hope that sometime all armories on the earth will be replaced with collections of works of art and creative workshops.
A the name of a plate — "The hands" — speaks for itself — we seek to find the sounding and therefore we perform all work: we compose music, we orchestrate it and, of course, we execute. "
(Alexey Kozlov)
