Description
The Nonino family has been known in the world of distillation since 1897. The founder of the distillery is Orazio Nonino. The highest quality products, stylish packaging, unique assortment, rich family values, innovation and research - these are the main principles of the successful business of the Nonino family.
On December 1, 1973, Benito and Giannola Nonino revolutionized the production and positioning of Grappa not only in Italy, but throughout the world. They created the single-varietal Monovitigno grappa by distilling Picolit grapes. The success was so great that most Italian and foreign distilleries were forced to follow the example ofNonino.
In 1977, the Nonino Literary Prize was established. The awards ceremony takes place in January of each year and is attended by representatives of culture and industry, and the jury includes famous people, some of whom are Nobel Prize winners. (November 27)
1984 was a turning point for Benito and Giannola, who continuously conducted research in the field of distillation. By distilling whole grapes, Acquavite d'Uva UE was created. At the special request of Nonino representatives, they receive a Ministerial Permit for the production of grape distillate. In December of the same year, Nonino's precious collection of products begins to be bottled by renowned companies - Baccarat, Riedel and Venini. After many years of research carried out on honey, a product considered a miracle of nature in ancient times, in 2000 Benito, Giannola, Cristina, Antonella and Elisabetta Nonino introduced Gioiello, a distillate created from natural honey.
In 2002, the Nonino family received the “Wine Oscar” award, awarded by the Italian Sommelier Association. This award was given to Nonino for its outstanding work in improving the authentic Italian drink, as well as for its high quality, research and experimentation. In 2003, Benito and Giannola were awarded the prestigious Leonardo Prize for Italian Quality. In 2009, Giannola was awarded the International Eve Prize 2009, Entrepreneur of the Year.
The Nonino distillery respects tradition and craftsmanship, the family personally oversees every step of the distillation process, which guarantees high quality. Today, in the cellars of the distillery there are about one and a half thousand small barrels storing precious distillates. The barrels are made from a variety of woods: Limousin, Nevers, Gresignes, as well as Jerez barrels made from acacia, oak and cherry. The highest quality products, a unique range, rich family values, innovation and research - these are the main principles of the successful business of the family Nonino (Nonino).
