Burn the candle - Malik Volodymyr (9789660386808)

Vladimir Malik (real name - Sichenko, 1921-1998) is a famous Ukrainian writer who gained fame as the author of historical adventure novels (tetralogy “The Secret Ambassador”, “Prince Kiy”, “Black Shields”, etc.). His works are placed next to the works of Alexandre Dumas and Henryk Sienkiewicz. The novel “Prince of Games” is dedicated to the historical campaign of the Novgorod-Seversk prince Igor Svyatoslavich against the Polovtsians in 1185. The heroes of the novel find themselves in the very whirlpool of tragic events, where the hardships of the campaign, bloody skirmishes with the enemy, captivity and escape from it await them. The trials of fate further strengthened everyone - from princes to ordinary people - the desire to live freely on their lands and defend this freedom. The publication also included “The Tale of Igor’s Campaign,” translated and reconstructed by V. Malyk.
