Description
In his novel The Green Duck, Manu Kauss shares with the reader a magical story full of French charm. A poetic and humorous novel about escaping everyday life, traveling through France in a runabout, coming to terms with the past and the art of giving life new meaning. Eric has long forgotten what is truly important in life. Every Wednesday at a French children's clinic, he visits his son Isaac, who suffers from autism, to look at carp with a boy who is always silent until the main character is forbidden to visit him. It just so happened that Eric inherited a green subcompact Citroen from his uncle. In the back seat of Titin’s car, his cat sits next to the ghost of his late uncle, who eagerly comment on everything that is happening. Soon they have something real to talk about, because Eric kidnaps his sick son Isaac from the hospital and sets off in a Citroen on a journey throughout France, on a journey through the past and present. A fabulous adventure awaits us, during which they will meet a mushroom-picking gendarme, a young woman with a curious butterfly. The always quiet autistic Isaac finally begins to laugh.
