Description
"At midnight, during the Renaissance..." - during the plague of 1348 - young people (seven girls and three boys) decide to hide from the sea in a country villa near Florence. For ten days, each of them tells one story a day. A collection of these witty and persistent or deeply philosophical, openly erotic or moralizing short stories, anecdotes and moralizing short stories constituted the “Decameron” (i.e., “ten-diary”). This amazing work, which became the pearl of literature of the Early Renaissance, was written by Giovanni Boccacio, an outstanding humanist, scientist, philologist, poet and writer, one of the most educated people of his time.
