“The Divine Comedy” is a poem written by the great Italian Renaissance poet Dante Alighieri, the greatest monument Italian and world literature. “The Divine Comedy” is the fruit of the entire second half of Dante’s life and work; this is his last and most mature work. It embodied the poet’s worldview most fully. Dante appears here as the last great poet of the Middle Ages, a poet who continues the line of development of medieval literature.
