Barberry (Berberis) is a plant that belongs to the genus of deciduous or evergreen thorny bushes of the barberry family, which has about 600 species, spread throughout the entire earth (Crimea Australia). The name is similar to the Latin “beiberi”, which means “breadberry”. In Ukraine, because of its very sour berries, people call barberry apple, kislyanka, or even lemon.
