Arthur Conley ‎ – Sweet Soul Music/Lets Go Steady (ATCO Records ‎ – 45-6463, USA, 1967).
"Sweet Soul Music" - the song is for the first time released by Artur Konley in 1967. The written Konley and Otis Redding, she is based on the song by Sam Cook "Yeah Man" from its posthumous album "Shake"; the introductory riff is taken from Elmer Bernsteins soundtrack to the movie of 1960 "The magnificent seven".
In the USA ranked second "Sweet Soul Music" in Billboard Hot 100 (after "The Happening" from The Supremes), and the second place in Billboard R&B chart. Abroad it reached a maximum at No. 7 in the British chart of singles. Byla is sold with a copies more than one million copies and awarded with a gold disk.
J.V. Alexander, the business partner of Cook, filed a lawsuit against Redding and Konley for assignment of a melody. The agreement in which the name of Cook was added to the list of authors was reached, and Redding agreed to record several songs in the future from Kags Music, Cook-Alexandras enterprise. Plastinks
