Description
A traditional British red drink made from a "gin" style drink based on sloe berries. During the infusion process, the drink acquires a dark ruby color, and the berries give the gin a special aroma and taste.
Sloe Gin Sloe tincture recipe:
For everything you will need:
Hot Rod spice packet for sloe spirit
250 grams of sugar
1 liter of drink in the "gin" style with a strength of 43%
Pour the package of spices into a jar of suitable volume, add sugar and pour it all into 1 liter of a "gin" style drink with a strength of 43%. Seal tightly and mix vigorously. Place in a cool, dark place to infuse for 3 months. For the first couple of weeks, the infusion needs to be stirred well every day so that the sugar dissolves completely and draws out the thorn juice faster. Then you can stir less often, once a week. After three months, the finished liquor can be drained. It will be cloudy and very difficult to filter due to the slimy pulp of the sloe. You can try filtering through a piece of muslin, or you can simply let the drink sit and then carefully drain it from the sediment. Sloe gin should be stored in a dark cupboard and the longer the better. It was experimentally found that the optimal aging period is 6 years - the liqueur turns out to be very balanced and smooth. But you can limit it to a year, although the drink will be a little harsh.
