Airtek aerosol is intended for treatment of bronchial asthma at patients to whom combination therapy of ß2-adrenomimetikami of long action and inhalation corticosteroids is shown, namely:

• in case of insufficient control of a disease against the background of continuous monotherapy by inhalation corticosteroids at periodic application β2-адреномиметики short action;
• in case of adequate control of a disease against the background of therapy by inhalation corticosteroids and β2-адреномиметиками long action.

Structure

Active ingredients: salmeterol (in the form of a salmeterol of the ksinafoat) and a flutikazona propionate;

salmeterol the ksinafoat is equivalent salmeterol - 25 mkg and a flutikazona of propionate - 250 mkg.

Excipients: propellant 1,1,1,2-tetraftoretan (HFA 134a), polyethyleneglycol 1000.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to medicine components.

Route of administration

Adults and children are more senior than 12 years: 2 inhalations of 25 mkg of a salmeterol / 50 mkg of a flutikazon of propionate 2 times a day or 2 inhalations of 25 mkg of a salmeterol / 125 mkg of a flutikazon of propionate 2 times a day, or 2 inhalations of 25 mkg of a salmeterol / 250 mkg of a flutikazon of propionate 2 times a day.

Children of 4-12 years: 2 inhalations of 25 mkg of a salmeterol and 50 mkg of a flutikazon of propionate 2 times a day. The maximum daily dose of a flutikazon of propionate makes 100 mkg 2 times a day.

Feature of application

Children

Extra risk of emergence of system effects have children and teenagers aged up to 16 years which treat high doses of a flutikazon of propionate (usually ≥1000 mkg/days). System effects are usually caused by treatment in high doses for a long time. System effects are possible include Cushing's syndrome, cushingoid signs, oppression of function of adrenal glands, sharp crisis of adrenal glands, a growth inhibition at children and teenagers, decrease in a mineralization of bones, a cataract and glaucoma, possible mental violations and change of behavior, including psychomotor hyperactivity, sleep disorders, excitement, a depression or aggression are more rare.

Is regularly recommended to control dynamics of growth of the children receiving inhalation GKS for a long time. The dose of inhalation GKS has to be reduced to a minimal effective dose for control of asthma symptoms.

Overdose

Signs and symptoms which can be expected at overdose of a salmeterol typical for excessive stimulation β2-агонистами, include dizziness, a tremor, a headache, tachycardia, increase in systolic arterial blood pressure. If medicament treatment needs to be stopped as a result of overdose β2-агониста, the medicine which is a part, it is necessary to appoint the corresponding replacement steroid therapy. In addition there can be a hypopotassemia therefore it is necessary to control potassium level in blood serum and to consider need of replacement therapy by potassium.

Side effects

• nasopharyngitis;
• irritation of a throat;
• Hoarseness voice / dysphonia;
• sinusitis;
• paradoxical bronchospasm;
• muscular spasms;
• arthralgia;
• myalgia.

Interaction

Because of danger of development of a bronchospasm should avoid use of selection and non-selective β-adrenoblockers unless they are very necessary for the patient.

Combined use with the medicines containing other β-adrenergic medicines can have potential additive effect.
