Description
George Orwell (full name Eric Arthur Blair) was an English novelist, scholar, journalist and critic. His creativity is characterized by poignant social criticism, opposition to totalitarianism and a strong support for the democratic ailments of humanity. The author is the popularizer of the term “cold war” in political discourse.
“1984” - without a doubt, the most popular dystopia in the world, first published in 1949. The book tells about the life of Winston Smith, a low-ranking member of the Party, about the frustrations of everyday life and the ever-present eyes of the Party and the evil party boy - Big Brother. Elder Brother controls all aspects of life: having banished the forgiveness of the new world, he tries to completely stifle the ability to oppose the system; criminalizing the Duma's malfeasance, so that people wouldn't even think about revolting against the authorities. The Party controls everything: what people read, say, mumble, threateningly direct unheard people to the fearful “room one hundred and one.” Orwell very clearly and clearly follows the control of the mass media, the order, totalitarianism and how a dictator can manipulate and control history, thoughts and living in such a manner that no living soul can survive escape the uneasy eye of Big Brother.
